Moro and De Morelli, top Swimrunners Italian Atlethes, are ready for the RockMan, on August 6th, 2016, Stavange – Norway
Finita oramai la lunga e snervante preparazione dei due atleti friulani, che nel fine settimana saranno a Savanger per il RockMan, una delle gare piu’ dure di questa nuova ed affascunante disciplina sportiva. I due atleti si sono preparati nel lago tre comuni per la conformità simile alla competizione norvegese, ovvero acqua fredda, corsa in mulattiere e dislivelli a piedi.
De Morelli non è nuovo a questo sport infatti è già due volte finisher Aquaticrunner, la gara Italiana di SwimRun che si disputerà tra Grado e Lignano il 10 Settembre 2016.
Ottine le sensazione per i corregionali che lo scorso Giugno hanno anche partecipato ai Magraid, 100 km di corsa nella ”steppa Pordenonese”, dispotata presso Cormons ed organizzata dal locale Triathlon Team di Antonio Iossa, che ha visto Moro fare un’ottimo piazzamento assoluto alla sua prioma esperienza su queste distanza, sintomo chiaro dello stato di salute di Agostino.

I due atleti correranno con le MUTE HEAD da SwimRun, gamma realizzata dalla HEAD per questo tipo di competizione.
Agostino Moro e Gianpiero De Morelli, noti Ironman udinesi, militanti nel Team Udine Triathlon, presentano la loro nuova impresa, RockMan Swimrun, che si svolgerà in Norvegia a Stavanger il 6 Agosto 2016.
La gara consiste in 42 Km di cui 6 di nuoto e 36 di corsa con un totale di 2500 mt di dislivello. Rackman è nata nel 2014, anno nel quale lo SwimRun si è esportato fuori dalla Svezia dov’è nato. Le altre due nazioni dove una gara di SwimRun è stata dispitata nel 2014 furono Aquaticrunner in Italia ed Engandina in Svizzera.

Rockman has a reputation as a challenging race even though the 36 km run and 6 km swim does not seem to bad. However the element of elevation gain of 2500 m, currents and some times low water temperatures makes it an extreme race. Last year, we skipped the last swim due to large amounts of snowmelt turning the water really cold at 6 deg C. This is considered a signature swim as the athletes have to run on a beautiful mountain ridge (called Dragons Neck) towards that last swim. It has snowed less this winter and the race is later in the summer, so there is a strong hope for the full course this year.
After the Rockman Legend in 2014 and Rockman Begins last year, the crew are preparing for Rockman Ragnarok on the 6th of august. The story of the legend will therefore continue and be revealed in the race movie this year as well. The race is still fully booked with 180 starting athletes, but there is a possibility for a spot via the waiting list as teams get injured during preparations.
